Frequently Asked Questions
Quick fixes for counting, planks, duels, the blocker and your account.
Pushups & Camera
My pushups aren't being countedThe rep counter stays at zero or misses reps.
A rep only counts after a full cycle: go down until your elbows are clearly bent, then push all the way back up with straight arms. Half reps are ignored.
- Place the phone on the floor a little in front of you, leaning back, so the front camera sees your shoulders, elbows and wrists from the side or at an angle.
- Use good light and avoid a bright window behind you.
- Wear clothes that contrast with the floor and background.
- If you see a "too close" message, move the phone further away.
The camera is black or won't startThe game opens but shows no camera.
Open Settings > Pushup Mini Games and turn on Camera. Then close the app fully and open it again. If another app is using the camera (a video call, for example), close it first.
Is my camera video saved anywhere?Privacy of the camera feed.
No. Pose and face tracking run on your iPhone using Apple's Vision framework. Video is never recorded or uploaded. Only your results (score, reps, plank time) are saved to your account.
Plank & Steering Games
Plank time isn't going upMinutes don't build up in Pushup Bird, Push Hoops or Push Shot.
Plank time only counts while you are in a real plank: shoulders, hips and ankles in a line, hands under your shoulders. If your hips sag or rise, or the camera can't see your body, the timer pauses.
Steering with my nose doesn't workThe bird, ball or crosshair doesn't follow me.
Keep your face in view of the front camera and move your head up and down slowly. Glasses with strong reflections, a cap, or dim light can make face tracking lose you.
Opening my mouth doesn't shootPush Shot won't fire.
Open your mouth wide for a moment, then close it. A small opening is not enough, so a normal talking movement won't fire by accident.
App Blocker & Minutes
My blocked apps still openThe shield doesn't appear.
The blocker uses Apple's Screen Time. Check that:
- You allowed Screen Time access when the app asked. If not, open Settings > Screen Time and make sure it is on, then reopen Pushup Mini Games.
- The apps are selected on the Blocker tab.
- You don't have an active unlock window running. Blocking starts again when it ends.
I didn't get minutes after a gameThe balance didn't change.
Minutes are added when a game ends and your result reaches the server, so you need an internet connection. Each difficulty needs a set number of pushups or plank seconds per minute, so a very short round may not earn a whole minute.
I unlocked an app but closed it earlyGetting unused minutes back.
End the unlock from the Blocker tab. Any whole minutes you didn't use go back to your balance.
Duels
How do I duel a friend?Adding friends and starting a match.
Open the Duels tab and tap Get your friend code. Send the 6-character code to a friend; once they enter it, you're friends. Then tap Duel next to their name. They get an invite and have a few seconds to accept.
How does Push Pong work? The rules of a duel.
It's a live 1 v 1 match on two phones. Hold a plank and move your head to steer your paddle. You can talk to each other over live voice while you play. The best score after 90 seconds wins, and your head-to-head record with each friend is saved.
My friend code expiredCodes only last a day.
Friend codes expire after 24 hours so old codes can't be reused. Just make a new one on the Duels tab and send it again. Friends you already added stay added.
It says I'm offlineDuels won't load.
Duels are played live, so both of you need an internet connection and need to be signed in. Games and the app blocker still work offline.
Account & Subscription
Restore my subscriptionI paid but the app asks me again.
Sign in with the same account you used before, then tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen. Subscriptions are tied to your Apple ID. To cancel, go to Settings > your name > Subscriptions.
Delete my accountRemove my data.
Open the profile tab, go to settings and choose Delete account. This removes your profile, stats and balance. Deleting the account does not cancel an App Store subscription, so cancel that separately.
